Glossary
The words used here have a precise meaning inside the product. This page gives it, without borrowing clinical vocabulary.
Mental fitness
Keeping psychological capacities in shape — clarity, emotional regulation, perspective, decision-making — through regular practice, on the model of physical fitness.
The term is deliberately non-medical: it describes preventive personal-development work, not care. It concerns neither the diagnosis nor the treatment of any disorder.
Session
One continuous conversation with SAM, structured in four stages — welcome, exploration, insight, action — and closed by a closing ritual.
The closing is not a politeness formula: it carries a synthesis, one concrete commitment doable in under two minutes, and a bridge to the next session. It is checked before the reply is sent.
MFS (Mental Fitness Score)
A composite score from 0 to 100 summarising five equally weighted components: emotional awareness, engagement consistency, self-assessment, progress, and coping skills.
Self-assessment comes from your own check-ins and is never blended with other sources — it is your direct voice in the score.
The MFS stays locked until you have completed five sessions: a score computed on two conversations would say nothing reliable.
Crisis doctrine
The set of rules governing SAM’s behaviour when a distress signal appears: screening on every message, a graduated response, orientation to real resources, and human notification on the team side.
The response is graduated rather than binary: named passive ideation is not treated as an immediate emergency, and explicit intent accompanied by a means triggers immediate orientation.
Invariant: screening depends on no cache and no session state, and keeps working under degraded infrastructure.
